I haven't done it yet, but I would definitely do it and not be bothered by it. However, I'm a female who enjoys blood, so perhaps my answer is a bit skewed. I've had this discussion before on another site and the general consensus was that most guys tend not to care. They just lay down an old towel and proceed like normal.

It's possible he doesn't enjoy it. Some guys just find it kind of gross and messy, or they get squeamish about getting blood on themselves. It also could be that he just wasn't in the mood. Maybe he was stressed out or tired.
