My days that were gold are now rusted,
The times of awe and wonder have faded,
because there's no reason to fight,
I've lost all sense of light,
and I'm not coming home tonight.
They'll say I'm too young,
life had only just begun,
but the pain bleeds raw within,
says the soul who will never rise again,
and I'm not coming home tonight.
I tried to build the walls around me,
but the problem was always my thoughts,
bouncing around in my head,
begging to be dead,
and I'm not coming home tonight.
I'm searching horizons to no avail,
I'm sailing the seas with no sail,
here I lie, shipwrecked alone,
so to those who don't know,
I'm not coming home tonight.
Don't pretend you care,
or wipe the tear from your eye,
remember what you said,
and now I'm dead,
I'll never come home again.
