Wishing On Planes (poem) -

Hi people! So, I had this random idea for a poem for a long time now, and I finally got around to writing it. I'm thinking of submitting it to my schools annual book of student written work, but I'm not sure if it's good enough, or I should elaborate more. What do you guys think?

Wishing On Planes:
I see my dreams before my eyes,
When I see a star up in the sky.
I close my eyes and make a wish
As I start to mumble this:
Star light, star bright,
First star I see tonight,
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have this wish I wish tonight.
I wish and wish as hard as I can,
And I wish, and wish, and wish again.
Just as I start to go insane,
I open my eyes to find it’s a plane.
The glowing light I thought was a star
Has flown away and traveled far.
I was ticked, deceived and fooled.
My hopes and dreams were overruled.
This seems to happen way too often.
And soon my dreams are all forgotten.
So I wish upon another plane,
Just to see if I can wish again.

Thoughts? What I'm trying to say is: I am a dreamer, and have dreams I really want to come true. Whenever I see a "star" in the sky, I wish on it. But sometimes, it turns out to be a plane, and my dreams just fly away and have no hope of ever coming true. But I still wish and hope just for the sake of doing it, even though I have no more hope.
Savvy?
