Sometimes, people need to spend some time re-evaluating their goals (not just short-term, but long-term... do you know what you want to do career-wise?). If this current program isn't a good fit for you, then it's important to think about your other options. Have you talked to an academic advisor about switching to the other program you're interested in? Have you read up on loans and what your options are if you decide to take a break and work full-time while you figure things out academically? More importantly, have you begun to think about your "Plan B" (back-up option if getting into the other program doesn't work)?
