Re: How much does a tattoo cost? - October 5th 2013, 04:23 AM

The price of a tattoo depends on the artist and/or the shop, the size, and whether or not it's in color. It is very unlikely you will be able to get a quality tattoo for thirty-five dollars. Most shops have a minimum price, and from my experience that's about $60, but you will need to check locally. Keep in mind that, most likely, they will not be able to do your tattoo that small. The reason is that over time the ink in the skin spreads, so if it is that small the letters will become illegible or blur together. They may want to make it bigger, which will increase the price. One like that probably won't run you too high, but it will almost certainly be more than thirty-five dollars.

Also, keep in mind that you will need to tip your artist. The going rule is that you tip a tattoo artist 20% or higher. So if your tattoo cost $100, for example, you would need to give them $120.
