Religion is seeing what isn't there, because you have faith that it is. Religion is a belief in and the worship of what cannot be proven, due to moral or cultural causes (which is not to say that god or Gods worshiped are not true). It seeks to explain what is (or was) unexplainable. It differs from philosophy in that philosophy offers a means of traversing the world that is provable, whereas religion offers a means of traversing or ascending to a perceived afterlife.
That is what I think religion is. And, people can practice a philosophy with religious fervor, but the two are very different words.
Anna's Personal Keys to Happiness
1. Do what you want within the bounds of reason, whenever you want to, and regret nothing. 2. If you have an opinion, don't beat around the bush, or there isn't a point in saying it. 3. Don't keep the company of anyone who won't like you and will try to change you.
