Well, what places are there around where you live? You don't need to go to a big social hangout just to meet people. You could meet people at a church, a youth group, a grocery store, a bowling alley, a coffee shop..
I've been through hell and back and came out stronger than ever.

As Amber said, there are lots of places to meet people your age. The important thing is to be brave and go talk to them. Common places my friends like to go is the movies, coffee shops, restaurants, and clothing stores. Maybe try at the mall?

I agree, I think you need to put yourself out that and go get involved in groups, or just go lonewolf walking around. if you open yourself up enough and get involved in certain things you will build friendships. You just need to have effort, patience, and time.
Best wishes,
Chris
