I want to be on better terms with my ex-girlfriend.
It's been a while now since my ex girlfriend and I were dating. We dated for 2 years. We broke up for the final time about a year and a half ago. A few months after, we reconnected and started sleeping together, but nothing came of it, and we stopped sleeping together about a month after we reconnected.
A year later, I want to reconnect. I don't know if I want to be on a deeper level with her, but I know that I would like her in my life in some capacity. She is my best friend's sister, and we get along like a house on fire when we're in the company of one another. She's just so easy to talk to, and great to hold a conversation with. Obviously, I'm either lonely, or I still have feelings for her. I don't know which one precisely. Should I try to reconnect? How would I go about doing it? |
Re: I want to be on better terms with my ex-girlfriend.
I would say think carefully about the reason you're reconnecting with her, and be honest with yourself. I'm on good terms with one of my exes- we work very well as friends, and our relationship now is completely different to the romantic relationship we once had. It can be a difficult balance if you ask me but I would say it all depends on what you want out of striking up this friendship. Like I said the relationship I have with my ex now is completely different to the connection we once had and you can't expect to introduce her back into your life the way it was before. That's not saying you can't be friends, that's saying don't expect to treat each other the way you once did or be as close. If that makes sense? :nosweat:
2 years is a long time and you'll have formed god knows how many associations (positive and negative) with her company. Make sure you don't have expectations of the friendship if you do decide to go through with it because of this :p |
