Angry Mom and her boyfriend having sex - December 10th 2013, 02:09 AM

Hi so I have heard my mom and her boyfriend having sex several times in the past few months. Its getting really annoying and it is really disgusting. Like it has woken me up a few times. I know its what people do and its normal and all but I want them to respect the fact that I can here it and I don't want to. My mom tells me and my sister to be quiet at night because her boyfriend needs to get up early in the morning. When she wakes me up on the weekends. I want it to stop, I'm tired of it.

A little info, I'm 16, I have two sisters one is 20, heavy sleeper, most likely slept through it (like 99.9% sure), my other sister is 22 but is away at college.

How do I tell her that I can hear? Do I even tell her or do I just suck it up and deal with it? I mean it makes me uncomfortable and I'm afraid I will hear it again. To the point where I want to stay at a friends house over the weekends.

Re: Mom and her boyfriend having sex - December 10th 2013, 02:22 AM

If it was me, just come out and say it. In a nice way of course. Tell her you don't want to hear it, or know about it. There are many ways to move around hearing things like that. Weather doing it when your not home, asking you to go out for a little while, doing it somewhere else.
I'm sure your mom will understand, and I'm sure she will be just as embarrassed as you.

So just tell her, make sure she is alone when you do, to save her from being embarrassed more. I'm sure that will fix most of it. She will be more careful. I know if I was older and I had a 16 year old daughter or son, I wouldn't be having sex in the house with them awake, or asleep.

I hope this helped.

Unless you put on a radio with the volume low or an electric fan to attempt to block the sounds, you'll need to talk to your mother. You could try just mentioning the noises coming from her room that are waking you up, without actually referring to sex, so that she will get the picture.

Start making loads of noise when you wake up to them doing it.. Or write a note saying private time is private not for the whole house to hear...

You've just got to tell her. Maybe talk it over with your sister and see if she can help you let your mother know. I'm sure she's not purposely being loud so her children can hear, and she'll probably be quite embarrassed when you tell her. But it's probably not going to change unless she knows. Just let her know, nicely, that you can hear her when she's in her bedroom.

Good luck!

Just remember, your Mom and her Boyfriend has every right to 'make love' as any other couple. Just tell your Mom that you keep getting woken up by loud noises coming from your bed room and can't get back to sleep, that should get the hint across without having to get into the whole "Sex OMG!" discussion.

The way I would go about it is by making a bit of a joke about it. Like "so, have a good time last night?"
That way, your mum knows you can hear, but its probably less awkward than "I can hear you... you know"

I...I have to say you have more patience then me when it comes to tolerating something like that. My mom isn't in the whole dating thing, but if she were and I heard something like that happen, I'd lose it the first time I hear it. If I started getting pictures in my head...nope, nope, nope! I'd probably yell, "SHHHHUUUUUUT UUUUUUUUUPPPPP!!!!"
But, uh, I think the others before me have given you better advice than what I'd end up doing.

While sex is completely natural, what she is doing is inconsiderate. It's her house, but you also live there too and need to sleep. Just tell her that her and her boyfriend have been "loud in their room" (which could easily be conversation, sex, whatever) and keeping you awake. She'll get the drift. I don't think she'll be angry; embarrassed, if anything, but she shouldn't get angry at you for having needs...aka, sleeping.

Re: Mom and her boyfriend having sex - December 26th 2013, 02:08 AM

i have this same issue with my father and his... thing (gf?)

Anyways, I haven't said anything about it, but I think with my time here over the summer, they got the jist of the fact they were a bit too... noisy. Ugh.

Thank god, I haven't heard it lately.

Anyways, I would suggest just mentioning it to your mom. Like "Can you please keep it down a bit at night? I can hear you from my bedroom" Just say it directly, without making a big deal that they are having sex.

Let her know that she's waking you guys up. I would also consider sleeping with a fan on.
