Opinions on dating younger guys?

Personally, I think it's fine as long as the guy in question isn't leaps and bounds younger than I am, and as long as he's mentally and physically as mature as I am.

Yes, this does apply to a situation I'm in right now, but I don't feel like explaining it, and I'm also interested in hearing other girls' viewpoint on this.

I think the fact is, it's really HARD to find someone younger with the maturity level as I am hypothetically. I mean, do we really understand how high our maturity level is? Age does matter because if you're a teenager and dating someone younger, it's unlikely to last. It may be possible, but unlikely. However, even if you aren't a teenager, that doesn't make everyone who is an adult, mature either. I suppose it depends who they are as well. I have dated someone younger than me by a year and by a long shot we were at different times in our lives. I was preparing for college and he decided to continue to be immature by smoking weed which I didn't favor. He was a fling, but I recognized that dating someone like this was something I didn't want. A year apart can make a difference as a teenager through my experience. There just tends to be more flaws than expected. For me, it ended up negatively, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try it out if you really are interested in this person. Good luck! :P

My boyfriend is two years younger than me. We got together my senior year of high school when he was a freshman. Now I'm a freshman in college, 200 miles/3.5 hours away. It's definitely hard, because we're at totally different places in our lives. We had a lot of trouble with the transition at first, because he just didn't understand what college was like for me. There's also definitely a maturity issue. I've always been told that I act older than I am, and well, he's sixteen. Sometimes he does stupid things that I don't get because I'm older. It's worked out pretty well though, because in about two weeks we'll have been together for a year. I've also seen one of my friends get completely screwed over though, because his girlfriend was so much older than him.
I think it's one of those things that you can't put a blanket statement on. Sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't. It just depends on the individuals.
