“Part of Me (LGBT Poem)”

I may not know you
But only one color shines through
You’ve called me many things
Do you know what those words really mean?

All those things that you said to me
Why can’t you just let me be?
I’m not from an odd selection
But I need protection

I’m talking about reliance
I’m hanging out with my alliance
I’m dealing with diversity
I want you to be part of me

I live in a colorful world
I’m not only attracted to girls
I may not be the most common gender
Please don’t make me surrender

I can’t stand your defiance
You’re going to need my guidance
I’m dealing with diversity
I want you to be part of me

I’m no stranger to you
If only these were things that you knew
I don’t mean to harm your personal belief
I just want to finally feel the relief

I’m talking about reliance

I’m going to finally be free

I can’t stand your defiance
I’m going to need an alliance
I’m dealing with diversity
I want you to be part of me
-I wrote this for people that deal with LGBT and that are bullied about it. I hope you like it!
