Pregnant :)

Last night i went to the emergency room for kidney pain... They tested for pregnancy and I am pregnant... The doctor listened to my tummy with a stethoscope and he could here babies heart beat. I was wondering how far along others were when the doctor first heard the babies heart beat?

I'm not pregnant, but my sister is. She was rushed to the emergency room back in July for bleeding she was experiencing, and she was 8 weeks along, and they could hear the babies heartbeat.

I was about three months along. I got my first ultra sound done when I was about two months. But it all depends on the person (kind of.) You can hear the heart beat so early on. But a doctor should be able to tell about how far along you are by doing a ultra sound. Good luck! :-)

Congratulations! :)
Did this come as a shock? Are you happy with the situation?
I'm due in April, and first heard my peanuts heart beat at my first ultra sound appointment, I was 10 weeks gone. Its certain a tear jerking experience :)

I learned in my embryology lecture on the heart that a baby's heart starts beating at about 21 days after conception so you are at least that far along.

He heard it with a stethescope? Then you are very very far along in your pregnancy, about half way done. If he head it with a doppler, you are atleast 10-12 weeks along. An ultrasound should be done to actually determine gestation at this point. When was your last period?
