What are the chances of being pregnant if...

I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks, so my bf and I were pretty eager to get busy again after my release. What are the chances I might be pregnant if:

-If was either during or just a day or two after ovulation started when sexual activity first resumed

-No protection whatsoever was used

-ejaculation occurred inside the female

- sex happened multiple times each day for about a week following the first encounter

-the female is eighteen years old and is only an occasional smoker

I realize I shouldn't worry about this stuff unless I miss a period, but I mentioned it to a friend and they are rather worried for me, saying there is a higher risk I might be pregnant. Is this true? Should I be a little concerned?

There is a 50/50 chance that you may be pregnant if no contraception was used. There is always going to be a risk of pregnancy if no method of contraception was used, no matter when you have sex.

Wow...are you TRYING to get pregnant? Yeah you might be pregnant, about fourteen days from when you think you may have conceived, take a home pregnancy test.

Yep... It's a possibility. Wait to see if you miss your period and then take a test. I mean, having unprotected sex, on or around your time of ovulation, leaves a pretty fair chance of pregnancy. But don't worry yourself. Just wait and see what happens.

Even if you were just on birth control? I thought you had to have a few months coming off of birth control before you could actually conceive (not that that was a factor in out choices protection wise while we had sex).

I've always been told that as soon as you stop taking birth control, you can get pregnant again ...
I'd second other people, if you miss your period you should probably take a test.

It's definitely possible that you are pregnant. Anytime you have sex there is the possibility you could get pregnant, regardless of whether you use protection or not (including birth control). Take a test 10-14 days after you had sex and see what it says. Try not to worry too much until you miss a period.

you can get pregnant the day you miss a pill. that is why you are supposed to take them around the same time everyday. If you don't want to get pregnant you should wear protection or use some form of birth control.

I got pregnant two weeks after stopping the pill. So, yeah, it's very possible.

Another question: How soon can your nipples be sore if you are pregnant? I know that can be a symptom of pregnancy (and also my period, although its a little early for that, and also many other things), but I was jw.

My nipples started getting sore and really sensitive about a week or so after I thought I might have gotten pregnant. It was before my period was due.

Oh dear. Well this does not bode well. My period is supposed to be due this week, so I suppose all I can do is wait and see. I didn't realize they could get sore that fast, Chelsey, I thought it was a while (as in eight to twelve weeks) before that happened if one was pregnant. What made you think you were before you even missed a period, if you don't mind my asking?

Well, it varies with every person and every pregnancy. A symptom that I may have had right off, someone else might not get until weeks later, or even at all.

And, to be honest, before I missed my period, I never thought that I was pregnant. It's my husband who kept telling me that I was. He said he just "knew" that I was pregnant. So it came time for my period to come... It didn't, so he brought me a couple tests home after he got off work one morning, I took one, and there were two lines, so he was right. I have no idea how he knew, but he was right.

Wow, that is strange in an almost cool way. I have no idea if I am or not; I don't "feel" pregnant and my nipples usually are sore before my period, but according to this thread people seem to agree there is a high(er) likelihood. It's still possible I somehow could NOT be though, right? Despite the odds, what about those people who try for months with all the above conditions and never conceive?

There is a higher possibility that you're pregnant because there wasn't protected and he finished inside of you. And, yeah, there are a lot of people that don't get pregnant right off, so there's really no way of knowing for sure whether or not you're pregnant until you've taken a test.

I didn't feel pregnant before I knew I was. I just felt like it was definitely time for a period. The early signs of pregnancy are a lot like signs that it's near time for your period. To be honest, I didn't really feel, physically, pregnant until I knew that there was a baby in there, which was confirmed for me by the ultrasound. I mean, I had the morning sickness and stuff, but it just didn't really click in my mind until I saw the baby in there that I'm pregnant.

Even after only, like, then days? How long does it take for things to get started working in there, if you know what I mean?

I'm not completely sure what you mean. From the time that the egg and sperm meet, it's in there growing. As for when you'd get signs of pregnancy, it depends on your body and the pregnancy.

How long until it fastens into the uterine wall and symptoms show up is what I meant.

Oh, okay.
I found a website that says that implantation occurs 6 to 10 days after ovulation, so it's about a week or a little more than a week.

Here is the website if you'd like to look:

So therorectically could that be why my nipples are sore right now? It is ten days after ovulation occurred......

Re: What are the chances of being pregnant if...

If you're pregnant, yeah, it could be why. If you're not, it could be your body getting used to being off of birth control again or getting ready for your period. But, again, just wait until your period is due and see if you get it. If you don't, take a test.

I agree with Chelsey. Just wait it out and see if your period comes of not. There is a chance you could be pregnant, but no one really knows. Your nipples may just be sore from other things like Chelsey mentioned. Good luck.
