Is she pregnant ?

I have been with my girlfriend for 7 months now. One week ago we had sex and the condom slipped as I was pulling out, I have no idea if it leaked. She is on the pill but had not taken it in around 6 days as she did not have time to collect the prescription. Just to be sure she took plan b the evening after. She had just finished her period the day before this happened. She is assuring me that she is not pregnant, but to be sure I made her take a test today, which was negative. I know it's probably too soon to be taking a test but I'm worrying because I have to leave the USA for 10 months on the 7th July, just after her next period is due and cant leave if something is up. I have been told by many people that I am over reacting but I just cant help it. Really, what are the chances she is pregnant ?

We cannot tell you if your girlfriend is pregnant.

If she took Plan B, then there's little chance that she might be pregnant. It's really unlikely so you should take her word for it. Ask her to take another pregnancy test in a week just to put your minds at ease.

If you two are sexually active, it's important for her not to fall behind on collecting her prescriptions.

Unlikely but possible. She should wait for when her next period is due and only start worrying if it's late.

You still have time for her to take another test before you leave. You're supposed to wait 2 weeks to take a test, so give it a little more time and then she can take another one :)

Hey there,
Myss is right. You're supposed to take a pregnancy test 14 days after an accident has occurred. If she took the Plan B, or emergency pill, then there is little chance that she might be pregnant, but of course, it's still possible. The Plan B emergency pill is only effective 72 hours after unprotected sex, or whatever the case might be. We're not doctor's so we can't perform an exam on her to tell you if she's pregnant or not. I'd wait another week or so and take another test, or wait until her next period to do so.

It is unlikely but time will only tell. I would recommend you to have her take the pregnancy test again just to be sure. But like others said you have to wait 2 weeks before you know the full results. Good luck.

Plan B is 95% effective 24 hours after incidences, and you have no idea if it leaked. Let's say the guess is 50-50 that it didn't/did leak. That leaves a 2.5% window of possibility - not taking into account whether or not she was ovulating.

I think you're over-reacting.

Also, just to add on to this: Although it's more effective to take it earlier, you can take Plan B up to 72 hours after unprotected sex.

You remind me of someone i know... anyway
at least your being responsible and taking all the necessary precautions, if she took plan B as some people in previous comments has said, 99% of the time the pill will work, i have had to take it a few times and i get scared before my period comes, but relieved when it does, hence knowing the pill has worked, so stop stressing out :)
