Friend might be pregnant.
She'll find out next week if she really is.
If she is, is there anything i can do to help? I know she'd be going through the pregnancy, but is there anything i can do besides talking to her about it? I would be there if she went into labor, and if she needed me to go to the doctors with her, but is there anything else? I think i'm kinda ahead of myself, since she doesn't know for sure if she is, but i want to be prepared to be there and be ready for anything if she really is. She's going through a hard time right now, because her boyfriend cheated on her and they're breaking up, and i want her to not be so stressed if she is pregnant. |
Re: Friend might be pregnant.
The only thing you can really do for her is to be there for her. Go to the doctor's visits with her, be there for all the good times and the bad. You can't do much other than that, unfortunately. I am proud that you want to stick by your friend through the good and bad times. Make sure she doesn't get too stressed out over the split with her boyfriend. Stress can harm a growing fetus. You could also tell her to buy pregnancy tests, as there are no age requirements to buy one, and have her take it at home before she goes to find out by a doctor.

Re: Friend might be pregnant.
Yeah, thanks.
I think she's going to the doctor next week, i guess she cant do it before then. I don't think it'd be developed before then to be positive? I can't think of the correct term right now, i just found out about it earlier today. |
Re: Friend might be pregnant.
The baby continuously develops throughout a pregnancy, as he/she would afterwards. Either way, stress can be harmful to the baby at all months during the pregnancy. The first 3 (first trimester) are the most crucial.

Re: Friend might be pregnant.
Yeah, but i mean like the baby wouldn't show up until next week i guess? She had sex a few weeks ago, so it would need to develop enough to show up on a pregnancy test. Which is why she needs to wait another week.
Yup, i'm going to try to help her feel as stress-free as possible, but i don't know how much i can do that, besides talking to her. |
Re: Friend might be pregnant.
The HCG hormone level isn't high enough to show up on a test yet?
I'm pretty sure the at home tests can be taken 2 to 3 weeks after sex... |
Re: Friend might be pregnant.
I have no idea. That's what i got out of it, since she said that she won't be able to know until next week.

Re: Friend might be pregnant.
If she had sex two weeks or more ago, she'll be able to take a pregnancy test and the HCG hormone will show up on the test. You can take a pregnancy test 14 days after unprotected sex to see if your pregnant. I suggest buying a package of them (some come with 2, others with 3) just to be safe. Buying in bulk is ultimately cheaper. So, if what your saying is true about her having sex a few weeks ago, she can take a pregnancy test and it will come out accurately. But, like I said, buy a couple and take them one day at a time to see if the results change, because it can happen. She could take a home pregnancy test that comes up negative and then take another that comes up positive. Tell her it's safe to go ahead and take a home pregnancy test NOW instead of waiting and stressing about it.
