Pregnant GF. What help can we get? -
September 22nd 2010, 04:06 PM
Hello I'm Paul.
I've just found out that my girlfriend's pregnant and we're wanting some advice.
She's 17 and I'm 20.. I'll be 21 when the babies actually born. I have a part time job for a supermarket, working 25 hours a week and earning just over 500 a month. She's at college. What help (money wise) is available to us? And what would we do about a house as we are both currently living with parents.

Depending where you're from you should be able to claim some sort of benefits to help you. But like I said, depending on where you're from shows how much I can help you.
If you're from the UK you can get in touch with the Job Centre who do all sorts of benefits and you could be get some.
If you're anywhere else then I don't know xD

Then you should be able to claim benefits from the Job Centre. Give them a call, check online or pop in to your nearest centre.

I have no idea about over there, but I wanted to say there are ways you can cut down the costs a bit. If she breastfeeds, that is one thing that will save a lot of money. But, she needs to eat healthy and 3 meals a day. Another thing is cloth diapering. It can save a lot of money too. You could try http://freecycle.org and get used, free baby clothing and items such as a crib, baby toys, etc etc.
Good luck and everything will work out just fine.
