I got my brothers GF pregnant
I had sex with my brothers girlfriend. (she's 16 I'm 18) and now she's pregnant 13 weeks, plus my brother is so happy that he's going to be a father.(He's 17)
So i finally got the courage one day to tell him that the baby might be mine. and he yelled at me (yeah i understand that he would be really pissed off.) he told me that he never has had sex with his girlfriend except recently so the baby was mine, and that he was lying and telling people that it was his, and he knew that it wasn't. I told him that i really want to be in the baby's life. Then he got really angry and said that If i tell anyone that the baby's mine, or get close to the baby then he will call the cops and get me for statutory rape. And I'm not allowed to talk to her about it, because if I do then I will get the cops called on me, so he told me to just stay quiet and be out of the baby's life, but i really don't want to. So what can I do?:'( |

I don't think you have to tell her if your brother didn't have sex with her before and he knows its not his baby I'm sure she knows that too, unless she had sex with someone else.

where do you live? in alot of places a 2 year difference if she is 16 or over is legal so i dont think they can get you on statutory.

In California the legal age of consent in 18, so yes, technically it is statutory rape. However, I believe there is a two year clause in there, and the DA will rarely prosecute a case such as yours.
Shame on your brother for threatening you like that when you want to be in your child's life. Talk to your parents, talk to her parents, and talk to her. Also, when the baby is born you should have a DNA test done, just to be sure. |

Wow.. this is a bit of a tricky situation. You need to speak to her, she can't just cut you out like that. She had sex with you.. she has to face the consequences. Not saying you're blameless here, far from it.. but it's not all your fault. But like Andrea said, if she was having sex with you she could well have been having sex with other people as well. There is obviously no way to know for sure until the baby is born and you get a DNA test done.
As for the relationship with your brother, i think you should let him calm down a bit first before trying to reason with him. He is going to be REALLY mad, and rightfully so. I'm taking it that the girl has decided to keep this baby? If so, you have a while before it's born.. but really you've got to be the one who makes the effort to apologise and try and mend this big mess you and her have both caused. Good luck though, it's never easy being a parent at any age, but especially being young. |

Surely your brother is also guilty of statutory rape, even if there's less of an age difference??
