possibly pregnant

so im sort of in an odd pickle.
my boyfriend of 3 years and i had unprotected sex the first day after my period. generally that's never been a problem, it's been about 3 years and we haven't really had an issue, but that was about 4 weeks ago and i'm feeling... a bit... well pegnant. i've been pregnant once before, by my boyfriend, but due to some of my physical issues we had to abort it.
i went online and found a TON of stories about women that have gotten pregnant from the same situation. Well, not only do i feel dumb, but i am just not sure what to do.
i havent said anything to my boyfriend about it because i mainly want to wait until i have PROOF that i'm pregnant rather than going off of these symptoms, which are, nausia (constantly), sore breasts/nipples, breast growth, tiredness, and weird mood swings, i have a couple days left before im supposed to have my period. should i wait until that point, or should i do it right away?
i am scared that if i am pregnant we will have the same issues we had before and we'll have to abort it again. i am just really scared and could use some helpful advice.

and please, if anyone wants to tell me that i'm an idiot for having unprotected sex, save it. i am sure i'm aware of everything you could possibly say.

I think you should take a test now. You could just wait for your period, but then you're gonna be stressing and worrying for the next few days unnecessarily.

Then why didn't you use protection?

And I think you should wait until your period before you take a pregnancy test, it will be considerably more accurate if you do.

eh, mistakes happen..

but anyway, OP.. take a test and try and stay calm, stress will delay your period even more if you're not pregnant. obviously if you get a positive test or still aren't getting your period after a while you should book a doctors appointment. :]

I've been on and off this website for years and have seen tons of posts almost exactly like this one... no one is here to judge you. A lot of us have been there. We understand.

Anyway... you should definitely wait until you've skipped your period to test. By then you should get a definite positive or negative. Just to let you know, pregnancy symptoms usually don't start until you are a few weeks along, so I would rely on those to make you think you are pregnant. So don't stress, it will only make things worse. Take a test and go from there.

I hope this post isn't too late. Well, its been a couple of days so, wait to see (if you hadn't yet) if you get your period. If it goes a long time past it then perhaps you should begin to watch for those symptoms which show you are pregnant and then also get a bunch of tests to confirm it for sure.

For god's sake, if all you're going to do is patronise the girl, don't bloody post.

OP I hope everything has worked out the way you want it to. Perhaps you could look into getting an implant or taking the pill so that you don't have to use condoms?

I know this post is a little bit, but if you haven't taken a test yet, might I suggest going to the doctor and having a blood test done? It only takes a few minutes, and it'll put your mind at ease.
If you wait until your period, you could just continue to stress yourself out more and create a false positive.
