June 19th 2016, 08:57 PM
So I found out a few days ago that I am pregnant again but am worried sick of having another miscarriage I have worked out that I am about 5-6 weeks which is what I lost the baby at before but didn't find out till about 3 months later then soon after I miscarried. Is it normal to worry about this is? I just want to get my scan and find out if my baby will be okay this time just don't know what to do with myself
Giving up doesn't mean your weak sometimes it means that your strong enough to let go <3

Hey Nicole, congrats on being pregnant again, and I'm sorry you've been through a miscarriage. It's perfectly normal to be afraid of a miscarriage, especially if you've already been through it. The best thing you can do for your baby and yourself is to take the best care of yourself as possible. Do what you can to stay as healthy as possible, and release the rest. I know it's easier said than done, but the calmer you are, the better it is. Stress and anxiety are normal, but too much isn't good for either of you. Good luck

It is natural to worry about your pregnancy for anyone! The best thing you can do is get the pregnancy confirmed by your doctor. One previous miscarriage does not mean that this one will have an increased chance of miscarrying too. So just try to relax the best that you can. I know that is hard though.
Getting prenatal care early and often is the best thing you can do. The doctor can do an ultrasound to confirm a heart beat and as the pregnancy progresses the doctor will check the heart beat at every checkup externally (which should be about every four weeks). This will help keep track of the baby's progress and make sure that everything is ok.
And if you haven't already started, getting on a prenatal vitamin will help fill in any missing gaps in your diet. You can buy prenatals over the counter at any grocery store or pharmacy.

It is normal to be worried about a miscarriage especially if you already had one. But, a previous miscarriage does not mean that it is going to happen again.
Have you scheduled an appointment with the doctor? I think that is the next step you should take. The sooner you can get in and get everything checked out the better. Prenatal care is really important for pregnancy.
I am wishing you the best of luck.

A lot of actual pregnancies end in miscarriage. It is surprising the number of women that do experience miscarriages. It doesn't mean that the mother did anything wrong as most of the miscarriages in the first trimester are related issues with the cells dividing. Given how many times the cells divide, it is shocking that there are not more errors in the DNA from cell division.

Hey Nicole,
Congratulations! I think it is natural to be concerned about miscarrying, especially having experiencing that before yourself. If you haven't already arranged seeing your doctor then it could be a good idea to go and see your doctor. Raise your concerns with the doctor, they will be able to reassure you and they may be able to advise you on how best to look after yourself and your baby. In the mean time try to relax and try not to stress out, try to take things a little easier than you usually do.
I wish you the best of luck,
Paige
