Question Am I pregnant? - January 1st 2014, 09:41 PM

Me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex on 20th(late night) of December. We used the pullout method and we are positive that he didn't ejaculate inside me. And he peed before the intercourse to reduce you the chance of getting me pregnant by precum.
However, on 30th around 11pm I got a really bad stomachache and after I checked my underwear I found little blood on it. And I never got that pain again. My period is due 3rd of january. But still I don't have any sings of period.

I don't have any other early pregnancy symptoms and I can keep up the all night without sleeping. Specially, these days I couldn't sleep because of my work and I am stressed out and worried because of my period. Do you think i could be pregnant? I am living in a country where abortion is illegal and I am still 22years old.

The soonest you would be able to take a pregnancy test is fourteen days after you had sex, which would be the same day you are expecting your period. You can buy pregnancy tests over the counter at most grocery stores and pharmacies. It should give you an accurate result on whether or not you are pregnant. Just because you haven’t been feeling well lately does not mean that you are pregnant. But the fact that you are having unprotected sex means that you chances of getting pregnant are pretty good. I highly suggest if you don’t want to get pregnant to start using some form of birth control. At 22 you should be able to get a prescription for something at your doctor’s office. At the very least your boyfriend could start wearing condoms. And just as a quick note: peeing before having sex does not reduce the likelihood of pregnancy.

I live in a country where the talk about sex is not open. It's hard to get a prescription here. I have been using pullout method for a long time and this is my first time that I am worried this much. I am really grateful for your information. I am still worried about my period and I am really stressed. Can stress lead to a delayed period?

Stress can cause a period to be late and sometimes for you to skip a period all together. But since you are having unprotected sex I highly recommend that you still take a pregnancy test. That way if you are not pregnant you can start to relax and if you are pregnant you can start to figure out what you are going to do. It's always best to know these things sooner rather than later.

Stress can definitely effect your period, so just be aware of that. Wait until your period due date. If your period doesn't come within that week, take a pregnancy test. It's the best option for you and you'll be able to know for sure.

I understand that it might be hard for you to get contraception but if you don't want to get pregnant, and you couldn't even get an abortion (if you wanted one) if you needed to then it might be a really good idea to look into it.

If the guy pees before sex, it doesn't affect the likelihood of not becoming pregnant. Also, as you might be aware, the pull-out method isn't highly effective. So if you want to remain not pregnant, I would strongly advise looking into any form of contraception. Using a condom would be the easiest but taking the pill or any way you can protect yourself is better.

I hope things work out.
