Week late, not pregnant, now what? -
April 24th 2009, 05:52 PM
What do I do now?
I just took a test, and lo and behold, it's negative. Which is not a surprise because I'm a not having sex right now, and flying and going through my jeans is not part of my boyfriend's swimmers' job description. Like seriously, was it supposed to stay on my hands after a messy blow and then get into my vagina? Ok, so now I'm absolved of that suspicion.
I called my gynecologist, and he says I can schedule an appointment for the 28th. The 28th of fucking May. Is that normal? What do I do until then?
My period is usually on the clock. What the fuck is this?

I once had my period be two weeks late due to stress alone. Are you particularly stressed right now? Do you have a lot going on. I don’t know if you are struggling with an ED, but that could also be the case. There are several different things that can cause a period to be late, or not come at all. Check out this site for a few of those examples: 10 Reasons Your Period is Late. If it is stress the best thing to do is just try to relax, calm yourself down. And hopefully it should come. If it doesn’t then you already have a doctor’s appointment for next month. If you really think there might be a chance that you are pregnant, wait another two weeks and take the test again. There is no harm in double checking. But if you didn’t have sex then the chance of you being pregnant is slim to none. I know what it comes to that time of the month, if I am late even a day, I start to get worried, even if I haven’t had sex in the last month. I think it is just natural for women to be worried about that. So keep the appointment, but just because you are late, does not necessarily mean anything is wrong. : )

The funny thing is that I was already booked on the 28th of May for a down there check up, and if my period is late and it changes my cycle and then I have it then, I am going to have to reschedule that appointment. Grr.
I know, I'm probably just stressed out. I don't think my eating has been disordered... I've been eating well. I have a slight fever, so maybe it's related to that? I couldn't say. It's so annoying because I feel like I'm going to get it any time now.. any time now.. I guess I'll just wait and see. It's comforting to know that it happens. EDIT, now I have an appointment with my pediatrician thanks to my equally up the wall mom. Lizzie you are so going to palmface at me for this...

Because I also have a fever and my mom is nuts... apparently? I bet you he's just going to say the same thing.

Hm, it could be the fever actually, illness can make your period late.
Don't worry though, it's extremely unlikely that you're pregnant, especially if the pregnancy test is negative =)
