HELP(May be pregnant) -
June 16th 2013, 06:00 AM
Okay, so me and my boyfriend soon to be fiance have been together for four years off and on. 2 weeks ago we had sex and he now thinks that i may be pregnant, but i'm not sure. Is it too early to take a pregnancy test.

Is there any reason why he may think you were pregnant? Did you not use condoms? Are you on birth control?
Most tests require you to be close to your missed period if not after. The accuracy of the tests and how many days before your missed period should be on the box. I would wait till you are close to the start of your period if not one or two days afterwards.
Also, it is recommended by the U.S. Surgeon General that all females of childbearing ages should be taking a daily multivitamin with folic acid to help decrease birth defects.

You can technically take a test 2 weeks after having had sex so it's not to early to take one if that's what you want to do. They are a lot more sensitive then they used to be so you can probably try.
If you didn't use a condom or if you don't use a condom and rely only on the pill and didn't take that reliably then, yeah, there's a risk of pregnancy there, the risk gets higher and higher when your not properly using birth control OR not using it at all, but, really, i think he's probably jumping to conclusions, why's he all of a sudden decided you are maybe pregnant? I think he needs to relax.
Just wait for your expected period and if it's late then get a test.
Feel free to PM me if you ever need to chat or have questions

No one knows your body better than you. So, unless the condom broke or there was a hole in it, I don't know why he would think you're pregnant. Generally you can take a pregnancy test two weeks after sex. Some tests say you can take them up to 6 days before your missed period.

I would try not to stress out and wait till around the average start date of your period to test. I would also consider taking multivitamins till then.
Also, I would strongly recommend buying either condoms or getting on birth control. You basically are trying for a child if you do not use them. It's better to have them and other people find them by accident then to end up pregnant when you are not ready financially and mentally to raise a child.
