Is it possible I am pregnant? - December 17th 2012, 04:48 PM

I had my period last on the 18th of November and it was due again for me 2 days ago. 2 weeks ago my boyfriend and I had sex and the second night we finished and he pulled out and the condom had come off. We both freaked as we are only 14. Maybe I am panicking but for as long as I can remember my period has been exactly on time. His mum said she would support us and my mum said that she would help a little but it would be my responsibility but she doesn't actually know that it is possible I could be pregnant, she just thought I was asking as a curious teenager. But I am still worried about being pregnant and then having to tell my mum, should I tell her what's going on and see if she can get me a pregnancy test or something??? :/

I'd suggest you tell your mum, at least that way she can support you. But you do need to take a pregancy test, just to be on the safe side.

Buy one as soon as possible (as it's been 2 weeks after you and your boyfriend last had sex) and then maybe consider using another form of contraception too, like the pill or the implant.

Oh, and stress can also make your period late, so try not to stress too much!!

I hope it comes out negative, but if it doesn't best of luck, we'll be here to help!!!

Let us know!

You'd be better of just getting a pregnancy test. 2 days usually isn't a length that I could consider to be concerning, but I also never used to pay that close attention before I went on the pill, not down to the exact day at least, just a general time. But I know how many people (including myself) would freak out (at least a little) if their period did not come when expected. So getting a pregnancy test will at least stop you from obsessing/stressing out over the unknown. Especially since, like Jodie said, stress can make it late--my period was 2 weeks late once because I moved half way across the country and was adjusting to a new place and university completely on my own, and the weird thing was that I wasn't fully aware of being that stressed out so yeah it's a consideration... I'd wait until you are a full week late and then get a test.
You might want to come clean to your mom. I understand if you don't want to tell her quite yet, wait until you do the test. But you should consider going on the pill which is something you'll probably need parental consent for since your only 14

Your periods can vary even if you have a regular cycle. Considering your age too, there is a chance you're just late.

All that said and done, there is a high chance you could be pregnant, therefore the best option is to get a pregnancy test. If you're mum said that she would be supportive, then use her! Most parents wouldn't be happy to hear their son/daughter is/has gotten someone pregnant so i'd be grateful to have her!

Otherwise, if you're not comfortable with that, you could always go to the doctor where they can perform a pregnancy test there, which is confidential too.
