pregnant?
so a little over a week ago, my boyfriend and i had sex, once without a condom and once with one (used properly, and it didn't break). both times, he pulled out much before he ejaculated. my period was supposed to start about a week ago and it hasn't come yet. i spotted a little today, but it was very minor. i know there's a chance of pregnancy because of pre-cum and that sort of thing, and i've gained some weight. my period may be late because i've started exercising recently, changed my diet a bit, and am (obviously) stressing out about missing my period. i don't want to completely overreact for no reason, but i don't want to blow it off and end up missing something. any advice?

Re: pregnant?
There is a fair chance that you could be pregnant. It is also possible that your period is late for the reasons you stated above. The only way to know for sure would be to get a pregnancy test. I would wait another week and if you don't get your period I would buy a test and see. Hope this helped!

Re: pregnant?
Exactly what Stacy said is all that you can do...
You seem to be freaking out about being pregnant so I'm going to assume you're young and wish you the best of luck. I hope it all works out for you  |
Re: pregnant?
If you were pregnant, your body wouldn't even know it yet. So, the weight gain and missed period are probably due to other factors, like stress and your recent change in diet. Nobody can tell you whether or not you're pregnant, and at this point, a pregnancy test couldn't even tell you because it couldn't give you an accurate reading. Wait another week (or two weeks from the time you actually have sex), and take a pregnancy test then.

Re: pregnant?
You could be, but the change exercise and diet could also definitely affect your menstrual cycle. I know when I first started exercising and eating differently mine got all messed up. Like the others said, if you don't get it in another week or two, buy a pregnancy test.

Re: pregnant?
I agree with Shannon. I freak out all the time about this sort of thing and my mom has told me time and time again that it takes awhile for the symptoms to show. Don't worry about the weight gain, that wouldn't be from pregnancy at this point. Your late period on the other hand may be something to keep an eye on, but don't worry just yet. Is your period usually irregular? If not it's probably something to do with the factors you listed above. I wouldn't worry about it too much right now. you're probably fine, but if you don't get your period within a couple weeks then definitely take a test. Best of luck

Re: pregnant?
Hey there,
I also agree with Shannon. Also want to remind you the pull-out method is not a reliable form of birth control, and should not be used with condoms as it will increase the chances of breaking the condom. Just use condoms how they're intended, they are strong enough! Next time, also remember an emergency contraceptive can be taken up to five days afterwards (within 72 hours for your best bet against pregnancy) if you ever have a condom break. Keep us updated, and we'll help you along the way. |
Re: pregnant?
I think everyone else has covered it. Test in a week or maybe even two, if you can. Let us know how you get on :)
