Light period -
March 28th 2012, 07:31 PM
I had a really light period this month. I normally have two days very heavy, often so heavy I stain things despite changing regularly (tmi I know) and then three days where it tails off. This month the first day was very light, the second day was light and the third day was almost non existent. I'm confused, is this normal? (I've been regular for several years already, always the same pattern). I'm gonna wait and see what my next one's like before I worry too much. :P

It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what it will be: The trip of a lifetime!

There's been months where I've been heavy, ones where I've been light, and ones where I've been mixed. I've talked to my doctor about it before, and he said there was nothing wrong with it. I wouldn't worry too much if I were you. Just enjoy the times where your period is easy. =)

I don't have one every month, I get them like every six or nine months, or whenever my body says to. So I can't say I've had similar, however I know that women's menstrual cycle's can go back and forth between heavy and light. Its nothing to be concerned about.

Haha unfortunately my cramps were just as bad as usual! I think what's freaked me out is my mum telling me a condom can fail even when it's used correctly and doesn't break, and my boyfriend telling me all about a program he watched where the women didn't know they were pregnant because they still had a period. :P But yeah, I'm just not used to anything being different from routine, and I bet next month I'll be back to horribly heavy. u_u

You're still growing up, so your periods are going to vary. Just asking, are you on contraceptives?

I'm not, we just use a condom.

Yay condoms!
I'm not worried about pregnancy. I was just saying that if you had recently switched to the pill, your periods can be affected by that.

I haven't, but I'm planning to.
It's probably everything you've all said so yeah, thanks for reassuring me.
The only other thing I was worried was losing it due to my eating disorder but I've actually been eating more recently so I don't think it could be that.
I guess this can be closed now.

Are you sure? I looked up a bit more. As sometimes being late, sometimes your period will be lighter when you are under stress or have certain medical conditions (particular STIs, but not always so extreme), so keep that in mind as well. And Eating Disorders can lighten/get rid of your period, but so can a change to a healthier lifestyle (such as a healthy balanced diet from a diet higher in salt) so there are a few things that can cause it.

I know I don't have an STI, thank god. xD
I think I'll wait and see what the next one is like.
