Weird period? -
March 4th 2012, 10:01 AM
So in February, my period was very weird. It was INCREDIBLY light, and brown, which is completely out of normal for me. I barely had my period.
I'm still fairly young, although I've had my period for a couple years now. Could it just be my age is making my period out of whack?
Thanks.

I've had my period for years & it's still different every month Periods are rarely the same all the time, so I wouldn't worry about it. Each person is different, so your periods aren't going to be like your friends. If your period continues to be really weird for you & you get worried, go see your doctor and ask if you're okay. Like I said before though, if I were you, I wouldn't stress out about it.

It could be anything. Periods are definitely rarely the same from month to month. They can be late, missed, or just weird due to stress (good or bad), change in diet, change in exercise, change in sleep, etc.
So, I would say it's nothing to worry about right now. If you have another strange period next month, or miss it, I suggest a doctor. But it's likely nothing to worry about.
Also, if the brown was at the start of the period but it got brighter and more red a few days later, it could just be old blood from your last period.

It's normal to have an irregular period, no matter how long you've had it. I got my period at 14 & it was still irregular to 18, when I finally went on the pill. As suggested, if it's a real issue for you, you can see your doctor about it.

Periods are very rarely the same The extreme lightness I wouldn't worry about, the brown blood i've experienced before - don't worry, because it's normal, you're having a Lucky Light Month
Like it's already been said, stress, eating habits, weight loss/gain etc all contribute to how your period is
If it happens next month, you can always see the doctor. xx
