Question Good things about your period? - February 9th 2012, 09:52 PM

I HATE it, I'm trying to think of good things about it to cheer myself up . So far all I can think of is knowing you're not pregnant (but I'm not sexually active anyway), it's easier to convince people to give you chocolate , and you have an excuse to scream at people! (well, at least my friends.) But other than that, it just sucks. Girls, can you think of ANYTHING good about this time of month?

Uhh...the only one I have is not pregnant...other than that, I got nothing. Periods suck.

Lol, it's true, periods do suck. I'm hoping there are girls on here more creative than us, because I absolutely hate mine and I'm really not getting any good ideas!

Re: Good things about your period? - February 9th 2012, 10:21 PM

Haha yeah, the only good thing about getting my period in my case is that it means I'm not pregnant Other than that, the cramps & bloating isn't fun at all. But it does give you an excuse to just be lazy lol. If someone wants to hang out and you're not in the mood all you have to do is be like 'Nah, I got my period today.' and then they'd understand why you don't want to hang out And it also justifies eating junk food

They may suck but they remind you that you're a woman, which is, let's face it, the best thing to be.

Yeah.

Um...not being pregnant is one I definitely have to agree with....eating chocolate and having the excuse to make myself cosy.

It's great to know that you're not pregnant, lol.
It's an excuse to basically eat everything in the house.
And to sleep all day.

Urm.. I can't think of anything else.

It's an excuse for many, many things.

Mostly, though, I use it as an excuse not to hang out or go swimming (I'm not usually in the mood for swimming, although I do like it).

Re: Good things about your period? - February 10th 2012, 12:19 AM

It's a good excuse to laze around in bed all day because you're not feeling too great and if people ask you do things, you can just say that you're on your period so you don't really feel up to it and they might just let you off. Obviously it doesn't work in all situations but still, laying around in bed and having an excuse to do it is pretty awesome.

You aren't pregnant (although that's not possible for me yet)
Your hormones are somewhat nornal because you didn't skip another one. I used to skip ALL the time and trust me, that's no better than having them because then you think there's something wrong because you can't be pregnant
You have an excuse to eat chocolate and salty junk food
It's a great way to freak guys out (say any word related to it and watch the look on their face)
It's a reminder that you can and will be a mom someday
It eventually ends

Re: Good things about your period? - February 10th 2012, 03:06 AM

• Score! Not pregnant! *high fives self*
• Great excuse to pig out and be lazy, and even pissy
• I always end up wearing my super comfy clothes (track pants/hoodies/baggy shirts) when I'm on my period lol, so that's decent I suppose!
• Its a good excuse for things; I was late for class once and told my teacher I needed to find a tampon, he didn't ask anything further lol
My friend got out of a presentation cause she had cramps and went home..she didn't even have to project done anyways
Anywhere you don't wanna go? Blame your period!

Re: Good things about your period? - February 10th 2012, 03:17 AM

In middle school I had a male gym teacher, so it made it pretty easy to get out of that class... Nothing makes a male gym teacher more uneasy than period talk.

Unfortunately I had a woman phys ed teacher in high school and she didn't fall for it so easy hehe.

Well like everyones been saying it's a good excuse for a lot of things. Like chocolate and getting out of gym, I don't take gym but that'd be an excuse I would have. Cramps plus running, not a good match. Haha

You get to skip gym And eat a ton, and be a generally lazy piece of shit. Honestly I'm willing to take the pain and messiness if it gives me a legitimate excuse to be lame

I definitely agree with the above. For me they are absolutely miserable n I usually wind up in bed with really horrible cramps so there isn't much thats good about it for me. Though it is a good excuse to sleep the day away and watch sappy movies or soemthing haha. Otherwise any reason I can have for wearing sweat pants around n just super comfy clothing is always a plus. NOt that one really needs a reason to wear sweats but I still don't like wearing them everywhere constantly lol.

If you have swimming in your school (I don't!) you can use it to get out of it.
An easy excuse to skip class to go to the bathroom because of your "period" or the nurse for "cramps."
Except I don't have swimming and don't usually use either of those excuses, so.

It means I can have a break from shaving my area and not care because no one's going down there whilst I'm on my period.
Not pregnant.
Can wimp out of things. "Sorry guys can't make the effort to do *bla* ... I have girly pains." End of conversation, no arguing back :P
It kinda gives me an excuse to be grumpy at people for no apparent reason haha.

Ahhh that's it I guess.

The only good thing about my period was that it got me out of leaving the house and I could eat as much mac n cheese and mashed potatoes as I wanted.

As for the pregnancy thing, ah well. Let's just say I can't wait to get my period again. xD

Re: Good things about your period? - February 11th 2012, 06:14 PM

Reasons I like my period:
-Lets me know I'm not pregnant
-Lets me know I'm still functioning and working down there, lets me know I'm healthy and still able to get pregnant if I wanted to
-An excuse to wear comfy baggy clothes
-An excuse to be a bit snappy and not get told off for it
-A reason to drink copious amounts of tea and eat lots of chocolate
-A reason to sit in bed/on the sofa with a quilt and a ho water bottle (but only if it gets really bad, which is not often but hey, it happens)
-an excuse for excessive cuddles with my boyfriend
-gets me out of shaving for a couple of days
-reason for nice long hot showers
-I don't have to remember to take my pill :L

But there are lots of suck reason too!

Razors pain you,
Rivers are damp,
Acids stain you
And drugs cause cramp,
Guns aren't lawful,
Nooses give,
Gas smells awful,
You might as well live.

Re: Good things about your period? - February 12th 2012, 06:30 PM

An excuse to be lazy
A great excuse if you can't be bothered to go anywhere
You're not pregnant (which doesn't apply to me as I'm a virgin)
Your ovaries are working fine
It's a sign of being fertile
It's funny to mention it in front of guys to make them awkward
An excuse to be annoying
If you're young it makes you feel older
Ummm... an excuse not to have sex if you don't want to

Great tip: If you have a period in school and you feel like crap, ask a male teacher if you can go home early because of it They'll feel awkward and will let you. At least my form teacher did

Being able to use "girl problems" as an excuse to get out of almost anything school related taken by a male teacher.

Having an excuse to be moody.

Being able to eat chocolate and not feel bad about it.

The fact that you can make most guys feel awkward just by mentioning it!

I always get super emotional, which means happy emotions can come in, too. I let it be the time when I just obsess non stop over my baby sister, dogs, and cats.

Just a girl with an angel above, just a girl with an angel to love. My angel grew wings and she did dare to fly. But I promise my angel, it's only good night but never good-bye. My angel, my angel in heaven above. My angel, my darling, you'll always have my love. Rest in peace, my sweet darling, it's only temporary that we part. My angel, my angel, how you still do steal my heart </3

Wearing baggy clothes, chocolate, and i can be annoying. Other than that i hate it.

From day one I talked about getting out
But not forgetting about
How all my worst fears are letting out
He said, "Why put a new address on the same old loneliness?"
When breathing just passes the time
Until we all just get old and die
