Virgin and first time tampon user -
November 2nd 2024, 11:06 PM
Hi I'm a virgin and I want to use the new August tampon but I'm afraid I can't get a tampon inside. Is it even possible for a virgin to use tampons and can I have it in while I swim or are in the bath or shower?

Virgins definitely can use tampons. It might be the position you’re in. Some people even stand and squat a little although most sit on the toilet. If you’re tense it will be harder to get in the tampon so try some breathing exercises to relax your muscles before inserting the tampon. Angle matters too so try inserting at a different angle.
Tampons are perfect for swimming and being in the shower, although some people don’t wear anything at all while in the shower.

Sexual experience, or lack thereof, has absolutely no relevance in using a tampon. It's all about the product, the material, what works for you and when.

Hi there,
It's definitely possible for a virgin to use a tampon. As Dez stated, the position you're in may be contributing to your struggles inserting it. It may be helpful to try sitting on the toilet, squatting, or putting one foot up on the toilet or tub edge. One of those techniques may be more helpful for you!
You can also definitely use tampons while swimming. You can wear them in the bath or shower as well, but it may be better to remove it when showering to make washing a little bit easier.
Take care,
