can i be pregnant?

I made out with a guy a few months back , we didn't have sex, and I'm not even sure if we touched in the down area. I have had 6 monthly period since and no other physical relation, but from the past couple of months I've gained some fat and have had this scare about what if I'm pregnant. Past few days I've been feeling a different type of weird something in the stomach, and I am very scared now. I do understand that this is stupid, but I am really scared. I googled and some people come to know about their pregnancy in the end(but they must've had sex right?). I am from a conservative family and I can't even consider if this worst case scenario happens to be true

Re: can i be pregnant?

Hey there! Thanks for reaching out. I want to reassure you that no, your question is not stupid, and I am glad you are asking it.

Pregnancy only happens when sperm are introduced into the vagina and reach a fertile egg that's been released during ovulation. Because you did not have vaginal sex, there is no way you are pregnant. A missed or delayed period can be caused by a number of things, including stress, but I want to reassure you you are not pregnant. In addition, if you were indeed pregnant, you would not keep having periods. So the fact you've had a period for several months also indicates you are not pregnant.

If you are concerned about pregnancy, ever, you can take a pregnancy test. While at-home tests sometimes are not accurate, or hard to read, after two weeks pregnancy will usually show up on these tests. Be sure to wait at least a couple of weeks after you last had intercourse to take it.

I am glad you are exploring your sexuality, but I would highly suggest reading more about sex, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted infections if you ever decide to start touching "down there." It's important to know how these things occur so you can take proper precautions when engaging in sexual acts.

Hope this helps reassure you. Feel free to PM me if you have anymore questions.

No, I haven't had a pregnancy test. I did consult a gynaecologist online though, she said that it isn't possible without sex and I should get an ultrasound for reassurance , she also said to see a psychologist. I had not been thinking about this after talking to her. But, for the past few days when this weird something going on in my stomach started, I got scared again. There is a lot of social stigma around where I live and if I go for an ultrasound there will be a lot of judgement and I'm afraid what if a scene gets created.

I want to be sure it's nothing important. Health first!
