really painful period cramps. -
March 20th 2016, 02:30 PM
I've been having periods since 14. This month I've got like basically the worst period cramps ever. To the point they are like so painful I'm literally nearly well like keeling over and feeling physically sick from the pain of the cramps - I've tried painkillers, exercise like all the usual things but no joy. What can I do nothings working - I have jobs/chores to do but cannot do them because of how bad these cramps are...

One of my good friends would get cramps so severe that she would be unable to go to school. It's not unheard of. That said, the root cause can be because of numerous things. For some people, they're just unlucky and get horrible PMS and birth control will minimize it. In fact, birth control helps tons of things like bad PMS, PCOS, etc. and it's worth looking into.
That said, your doctor will know best what is going on and will be able to give you a more specific answer and course of action.

It could be a sign of something new. Like I said, I'd talk to a doctor if I were you, thats doubly true if it isn't normal for you. It could be a cyst or something.

There is a special "lady business" pill. I don't know what it's called but it helps with cramps and stuff and you can likely find it in the pain-relief section (or somewhere close by) at the drug store because that's where I've seen it. Also, try things ginger tea because hot liquids can help relief tension and hot compresses, that might help with some of it meanwhile
