Period concerns - July 5th 2012, 04:32 PM

Hi guys...Um,ive been quite sick over the last week,and my period hit yesterday,and I noticed that its alot heavier than normal and large blood clots.Is this something I should be concerned about,or is it just because im sick

Im not sure,because its never been so heavy or had large clots...Thanks guys

Hi there

I suppose it would be normal (for want of a better word) for your period to be a bit erratic if you are feeling a bit under the weather. See how it goes this month. If it continues and this is not usually the way your periods are, then maybe see a doctor.

I had the same problem a while ago. It's totally normal as long as it doesn't become something that happens every month. Sometimes periods do weird things just because they feel like it. If it'll make you feel better, you can always call your doctor and ask him about it.

it is normal for this to happen from time to time but if it happens every month you should probarly see a doctor

If you're concerned about it, a doctor visit won't hurt Having irregular periods once in a while isn't a terrible thing. Some women even have really heavy periods like what you're describing as a normal thing (like me).
