BC and extra long period??? - June 19th 2012, 10:01 PM

I started my period a week ago and my birth control the morning after it started. I am currently on the 7th day of my period now. It's light and mainly brown discharge. Sorry kinda gross but I'm curious if this is normal? I don't wanna go back to my doctor because i get huge anxiety attacks when it comes to getting checked out down there. Help please.

Brown periods are definitely normal, it just means that the blood is old, that's all. I wouldn't worry about it too much, and after your bc and period get regulated to each other, then you shouldn't have any problems, but it may still be brown every once ina while, but that is perfectly normal.

Thank you!! I'm relieved. Can't do another doctors visit. I shook for five hours after the last one.
