Find an ice rink. Pick a rink and organise a date to go with your friends or family. Outdoors can cost less than indoors, and you will also be outside in the cold but it's a magical experience when it snows on you and it's so pretty to see. Indoor rinks are warmer.
Dress for comfort. It’s not advisable to wear jeans because if you fall down they will get wet. It’s better to wear yoga pants or leggings, a hat, scarf, gloves, hoodie and a jacket if you want. Be comfortable in what you wear and have fun.
Pick your skates. Try skates that are one size down because you need a snug fit and you don't want them moving around on you. You can try a few different skates until you find a pair that feels comfortable.
Start slowly. Stand up and try walking around first. Go slow, have your feet apart as you normally walk and when you get to the ice start walking slowly. If you need the railing to help you to not fall then use that. If you fall, you fall, try to stay calm and get back up and try again. Don't give up after the first fall.
