Re: LinkedIn -

I like to think of LinkedIn as an almost limitless CV. A normal CV is often between 1-2 pages so it's helpful to only put down what's relevant or most important. But LinkedIn you can make as detailed (or not) as you like.
When I've previously used LinkedIn, I have included:
Secondary school (GCSEs and A-Levels)
University (Undergrad modules and volunteering)
University (Masters modules and dissertation)
Volunteering with TeenHelp
Volunteering elsewhere (including any training that I undertook as part of the volunteering)
I would often be semi-detailed in these sections so I would bullet point what I did etc. But I've seen people either include no details (beyond name of school, date attended and degree), bullet points or even small paragraphs.
If I were to set-up my LinkedIn now, I don't think I would include my GCSEs or the modules for my degree, or include all the training from volunteering just because I don't think it's that relevant to me (as in, it's kind of a given that I have achieved GCSEs in order to go on to further study or that I've had training to help with volunteering, and listing all modules for my degree seems a bit pointless if I'm not going to specialise in any area).
I don't know much about perfecting a LinkedIn profile, but I do now that following relevant pages can help with keeping up to date with jobs or news that is relevant to you which can also help with networking and keeping active on there.
