Ways to stay connected.
What are some ways you stay connected to others even when your schedules don't align?
I use group chats to stay in touch, but I'm sure there are other ways! |
Re: Ways to stay connected.
What I find helpful is connecting to people in really meaningful ways. Group chats can be great but often they have a huge volume of messages which can be stressful to keep up with, so I favour quality connections over quantity/frequency. Often face to face connections make this easier, but an alternative is 'asynchronous' connections when two people are doing separate things, but in the same space, just enjoying one another's company, which can also be nice. Sometimes just sitting and talking isn't the best activity so for example going for a walk together or playing a game online is a nice alternative to get together too.

Heck, got like Discord nowadays. I also can give my number to them, and other means. I do agree group chats can be a good way to connect and stay connected!

Re: Ways to stay connected.
I generally ask for a number or e-mail where I can contact someone. Usually whatsapp will ever work, even it's not the same thing to see someone in face.

Re: Ways to stay connected.
I prefer one to one messaging over group chats. Some of my friends are busy/don't use social media much so I find that for me, there isn't much I can do apart from message them and then wait for a response. Or rather do something other than wait for a response. I might send a quick meme or something I saw that reminded me of them. Other times, I might just write really long messages (I have problems open up to others so if I send a long message then I trust them). I try to be understanding that they aren't going to respond straight away and might not even respond for months at a time. I like to think that one day I'll get to see them face to face again, but in the meantime keeping in touch by private messages will have to do :p

Re: Ways to stay connected.
I'm guilty of exclusively using group chats as I find one to one conversations with people quite tricky. But often I use games and group voicechats to keep up with people. I find that Among Us is a great way of catching up and having a laugh with people I don't see that often.

Mostly social media for me even though I can't stand using it.

Re: Ways to stay connected.
I find group chats to be extremely overwhelming. I don't being part of them and I hate being invited to them.
I enjoy playing online games or streaming the same movie/TV show together. It creates an opportunity for dialogue. |
Re: Ways to stay connected.
I am mostly the same situation. I use Discord and/or group chats to stay connected with friends and/or family usually.
