ADHD and reminiscing - December 2nd 2020, 01:41 AM

Any one reminisce a lot when you take a simulant (ADHD med)? I hate it. Hard to get school work done. I'm constantly reminiscing while trying to get school work done today. Some days its worse than others.

I've never taken ADHD medication so I can't comment. However, I can say that sometimes my mind goes off track whilst I'm trying to concentrate on specific things that don't mentally stimulate me.

Re: ADHD and reminiscing - December 2nd 2020, 12:05 PM

I've not taken ADHD medication and am not too sure whether I have ADHD or not, but I do struggle with getting absorbed in daydreams or trails of thought when I have other things to do. I find writing thoughts down helpful as I feel like I've gotten everything down that I was thinking and feel able to move on and concentrate a bit better. I also have to try and stay away from things that might make me reminisce or think, especially if I know I have work to do.

I would've imagined that the medication should be helping you to concentrate a bit better? Maybe it's worth talking to your psychiatrist or doctor about this?
