Continuous Poem - All of ours. Participate! :D -
October 29th 2011, 06:35 AM
This thread has been labeled as triggering by the original poster or by a Moderator. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.
Hello TH. This isn't any ordinary poem, it wont even be just mine. It'l be all of ours. I want all of us to take interaction with eachother and work off of eachother. This can be something to help us grow, help us express, and help us get in the right direction not only with writing but in life in general. This will also get us talking to eachother and getting to know eachother that much more
The way I thought we were going to start this was someone write part of a poem, I say about 4 lines, and another continues. 4 - 8 lines per person, and continue with the story. Let's see how long we can go, yes? I think this would be a fun idea.
Go ahead and start, I can but I wont. I want to see what someone else comes up with to start annnnnnnd. GO.

I love this idea! I actually have no idea how to start, so I'll come back and contribute once it's up and running. I think this is a brilliant idea though.

Okie, I'll start it off, now someone continue
Her eyes open wide when she looks beyond the sky
She watches the tears of the sun as they pass by
All the lives she blew sky high believed in her lies
Locked up in her heart when they knew they couldn't comply

She held them there, trapped in her little cold heart
No, but it wasn't always so cold, no no.
Oh but once this lovely little girl's heart was a summer castle
Complete with little pink flowers and rolling hills of green
The storm clouds came in unexpectedly and the poor little girl hid
But no one can hide from the storm...
Don't you know you're lovely?

No one can hide from the storm
So you question can they see the storm?
When the rain drops hit she will finally take her form
And when they look upon the eyes they'll feel her scorn

Her eyes will tell the story
Of her suffering not glory
Trapped in her heart of cold
No matter what people told
She kept believing in the lies
When the rain drop hit her eyes

Her eyes show the prize
But is it worth it just to say goodbye?
She knows she can't fly but she still tries to try
Even when the paint starts to peel and dry

none of which did she beleive

With an addiction to makeup and a nasty little snow habit
She tries to cover up the the vast moody sky so she can trap it
No, it's not magic, it's all in the way she wraps it
If it's not tight enough, watch things get tragic

But inside is a beautiful little girl who's been told too many times she's too big. Oh darlin', you're so beautiful and perfect if you could only see. Love yourself, because he never loved you.

Let go of your sorrow
Let go of your pain.
Don't let what your used to
Win this horrible game.
Leave all that you have known
Start life anew
Become a better person
Because the world loves you.

She doesnt see the lies
And she doesnt see the truths
All around her people die
As she crumples up the nuce
Falling to the floor
Trying to make it through
She thinks noone cares anymore

By the way. I see over 80 people looked at this thread, I don't see 80 people responding either =p. Please don't be afraid, please continue this as it will be one of the funnest things you will ever do. I'd like to see more and more people enter this thing so we can make a poem that lasts the rest of our lifetime <3
If only she knew her ceiling wasn't in runes
Her people weren't so crude
Like the stars compliment the moon
But the sun gazes too soon
She realizes even light ain't bullet proof
She stands atop the roof
To shout out...please god....just shoot.

And with her emotions so deeply in root
She saw her life flash before her eyes
Standing there her face filled with demise
She did soon realise
That this just was not right
Shaking with fright
She took flight

needing to leave but scared to fall
she just runs away down the hall
behind closed doors they whisper her name
all the while shes ignoring their game
jumping, reaching, screaming out
is there really a reason to thrash about?

Her fate
Laid out straight
She's taken their bait
Without much of a fight
She tries with all her might
It's not good enough
In the dead of night
Her tears are shed
Her pillow is red.

No reason to sharpen it
As her life drains away
So does the light of Day
No longer is it bright

The thought of dying now fills her fright
She lays in bed hoping and praying it will be all right
She hops she will make it through the night
The darkness surrounds her
She suddenly feels like a fragile and delicate flower
With every passing hour
She found she still some had some sort of power.

Her heart about to shatter
She began to think I don't matter
She took pen to paper
Words pouring out
Full of putrid and anger

Until he never came around again
Leaving her in her tears to drown
So now she is left with nothing not even her heart
You tore that from her after you fell apart
And now she is just waiting for another to come in
To do the exact thing to her over again

My knight in shining armor is no more
He left me to pick the pieces off the floor
Don't come back knocking on my door
I don't need you anymore
I'm tired of crying and feeling so sore
I'm taking my life back, locking the door
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

But she fell, resistance was all that she'd meet.
She told everyone she was fine, but she lied
And one day something snapped: "help me," she cried.

Her knight in shining armor had returned then
Saying he was sorry, let's just start again
The girl had a very tough choice to make
Not knowing what path she should take
The knight didn't love her anymore
But loneliness hurt her to her core

She lay there looking at that closed door
A frown occupied her face
She felt this was her place
Just to be used and hurt
She looked around with so much disconcert

She knew this process would be the same
Driving her more and more insane
She let the world swallow her up
Deeper and deeper in her pain

She throws her hands to the sky
As she tries to free herself from the lies
Told by the unseen mouths that wander the Earth
Whispering into sorrowful souls that their lives have no worth
They can have their world We'll create our own I may not be brave or strong or smart But somewhere in my secret heart
I know Love will find a way Anywhere I go I'm home If you are there beside me

Here's the whole thing in case anybody wants it...
Quote:
Her eyes open wide when she looks beyond the sky
She watches the tears of the sun as they pass by
All the lives she blew sky high believed in her lies
Locked up in her heart when they knew they couldn't comply
She held them there, trapped in her little cold heart
No, but it wasn't always so cold, no no.
Oh but once this lovely little girl's heart was a summer castle
Complete with little pink flowers and rolling hills of green
The storm clouds came in unexpectedly and the poor little girl hid
But no one can hide from the storm...
No one can hide from the storm
So you question can they see the storm?
When the rain drops hit she will finally take her form
And when they look upon the eyes they'll feel her scorn
Her eyes will tell the story
Of her suffering not glory
Trapped in her heart of cold
No matter what people told
She kept believing in the lies
When the rain drop hit her eyes
Her eyes show the prize
But is it worth it just to say goodbye?
She knows she can't fly but she still tries to try
Even when the paint starts to peel and dry
The coldness on her skin
Which everyone said was sin
None of which did she beleive
And the gift she never did receive
Left open once more
As she crumples to the floor
With an addiction to makeup and a nasty little snow habit
She tries to cover up the the vast moody sky so she can trap it
No, it's not magic, it's all in the way she wraps it
If it's not tight enough, watch things get tragic
But inside is a beautiful little girl who's been told too many times she's too big.
“Oh darlin', you're so beautiful and perfect if you could only see.
Love yourself, because he never loved you.”
Let go of your sorrow
Let go of your pain.
Don't let what your used to
Win this horrible game.
Leave all that you have known
Start life anew
Become a better person
Because the world loves you.
She doesnt see the lies
And she doesnt see the truths
All around her people die
As she crumples up the nuce
Falling to the floor
Trying to make it through
She thinks noone cares anymore
If only she knew
And with her emotions so deeply in root
She saw her life flash before her eyes
Standing there her face filled with demise
She did soon realise
That this just was not right
Shaking with fright
She took flight
She's high above the sky and all she does is wonder why
She's being pried out of life without so much as a goodbye
Needing to leave but scared to fall
She just runs away down the hall
Behind closed doors they whisper her name
All the while shes ignoring their game
Jumping, reaching, screaming out
Is there really a reason to thrash about?
Her fate
Laid out straight
She's taken their bait
Without much of a fight
She tries with all her might
It's not good enough
In the dead of night
Her tears are shed
Her pillow is red.
It falls to the carpet
No reason to sharpen it
As her life drains away
So does the light of Day
No longer is it bright
Shes about to say Goodnight
The thought of dying now fills her fright
She lays in bed hoping and praying it will be all right
She hops she will make it through the night
The darkness surrounds her
She suddenly feels like a fragile and delicate flower
With every passing hour
She found she still some had some sort of power.
Picking up the phone
A shakeing hand dialed
A friend that would make her feel better
The phone rang and rang
But no one answered
Feeling more alone then ever
Her heart about to shatter
She began to think I don't matter
She took pen to paper
Words pouring out
Full of putrid and anger
But nobody heard
As she poured out her heart
And she couldn't tell them
Didn't know where to start
noone would listen
noone would see
until a man in black armour
came to rescue me
he picked me up off the ground
he gave my life a whole new sound
Until he never came around again
Leaving her in her tears to drown
So now she is left with nothing not even her heart
You tore that from her after you fell apart
And now she is just waiting for another to come in
To do the exact thing to her over again
My knight in shining armor is no more
He left me to pick the pieces off the floor
Don't come back knocking on my door
I don't need you anymore
I'm tired of crying and feeling so sore
I'm taking my life back, locking the door
And she tried to pull herself onto her feet
But she fell, resistance was all that she'd meet.
She told everyone she was fine, but she lied
And one day something snapped: "help me," she cried.
Her knight in shining armor had returned then
Saying he was sorry, let's just start again
The girl had a very tough choice to make
Not knowing what path she should take
The knight didn't love her anymore
But loneliness hurt her to her core
As she fell once more to the floor
She lay there looking at that closed door
A frown occupied her face
She felt this was her place
Just to be used and hurt
She looked around with so much disconcert
She never knew life would be this hard
Swallowed in the darkness
Cracked lips that called his name
The gaze in her eyes hopeless
Her mind playing tricks and games
Knowing she'd never feel whole again
She knew this process would be the same
Driving her more and more insane
She let the world swallow her up
Deeper and deeper in her pain
She new that life little game
Was one she'd never truly win
So she falls back to the ground
Where she cant here a sound
And listens for a voice
That will help her rejoice
Disappointed when nothing returns
So she crys until it burns
She's become part of a sick and twisted game
The boy of her dreams
Now many miles away
Nobody to save her
Nobody to hear her
She lets out a scream
She throws her hands to the sky
As she tries to free herself from the lies
Told by the unseen mouths that wander the Earth
Whispering into sorrowful souls that their lives have no worth

She grasps the handles by the strings she gently placed
Resenting grace in every stencle trace she can't erase
The cracks on this shifty stage and the misty gaze
Shine light on new beginnings in this weary age
Here come the waves like a train shaking her brace
And she can't relate to any fucking bleeding face
So praise today even when you can't find your way
Just for a change of pace try to feign the pain

She wants the pain to go away,
To live her life day by day.
But she doesn't know how,
and her mind begins to doubt.
(I hope you don't mind me joining in. I'm trying to get rid of this writer's block and this is a great idea! Fantasic poem so far!)
