I tried a different style for this one, inspired by an existing poet. It's different to my normal poetry and it isn't perfect, but I'm pretty proud of it. I hope you like it, too.
They tell you to go and to take it with stride,
to press on and hold out and live life with pride.
They want you to wake up and seize every day,
and not spend your hours wishing life away.
But it can be hard, and degrading, and tough,
you think to yourself, "It just isn't enough,
what purpose is it if it's only for me?"
You want resolve and results and rewards you can see.
With hours of shaming and hating yourself,
Just how can you do this with dark thoughts in wealth?
It's not adequate reason
just to do it for you.
Then do it for them,
if it's all you can do.
