Hush
Utter not a single word
Because you swallowed them all
So that you could be big
And I could lose myself a little more
Into the story you’d created
About who I really am

Collar gleaming,
As we did dark deeds
In the shadows
You smeared blood on my face
And my eyes glittered
Drunk on your power
I never stopped to question
Why you were so deft
At control
Until you threatened
To claim
Every part of my life
And I realized
I wanted to choose
But it was too late
Your fingers
Had touched my soul
And all choice was tainted
Your mark upon me
In more ways than one
I was your ghost love
Silent, translucent

I really enjoyed reading this! Thank you for sharing it. I like the fact that each of the lines are very short, but that there's no pauses between them. In my head, I read it almost like a train of thought which was quite interesting.

You really drew me in from the beginning here and captured my attention/emotions throughout. I love it!
