Haven't been posting here in a while. Wanted to share my latest artwork with you.
Nemo-I watched Finding Nemo a few weeks ago and I realized how timely it was. The movie Finding Nemo is about a journey of learning to trust your child (and inner child), love, friendship, accepting and celebrating differences, allowing yourself to take a risk and to explore something new and about not giving up
Frozen II Show Yourself- Ugh I just love that song! It is so powerful and I am forever reminding myself I deserve to take up space and that I belong in this world. Showing yourself and showing up for yourself are slightly different than each other but whenever I hear this song I think of 'showing up' in the face of challenges. This song speaks to me on a deep level.
Nice paintings and I really like the quote you included on the second painting. Both movies are very powerful and inspirational, and I think it is a great idea to paint down what inspires/empowers you the most. Btw, may I ask you what the paints you used for the nemo? The white section really looks like oil painting and the rest looks like water color pen.
Thank you so much for sharing with me your paintings~~~ I really like them.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

Hey Leah,
It is actually not paint! I made a mistake on nemo so I went over it with white acrylic paint and a toothpick so it looks uniform. Then I sorta made the mistake again (hence the slight orange on the white)
The Orange is actually a double sided marker pen with one side fine tip and the other side broad brush and the black is a fine tip ink pen. I use 2 similar yet different sets and got them from Wal-Mart.

Ahhhh, I see. The piaint goes on the Nemo really naturally. That was a good move.

Violet, these are great and I love how you added a little background story as to why you created these and how it related to you. I look forward to more artwork from you, if you choose to share them.
Thank you everyone! I do want to make sure to mention t hid since I haven't already: I did use reference images from the internet and I do not own either nor do I claim to own either one. This is my personal sketchbook so I allow myself to copy images directly but I would not sell this because the concepts don't belong to me.
Thanks for the clarification! Why don't you try sketching something of your own and sharing it with us? I understand if you don't want to. I think it's still great that you use these sketches you've found on the Internet and try to make them more personal to yourself.
Whether you choose to keep doing the same as you've done in this thread or share your own work, I hope you will share them on here with us either way!
Because these specifically are movie characters. It is the first time I shared something not original. I guess I do this kind of work whenever I'm feeling blocked so I kinda get myself moving again
Makes sense, I definitely get what you mean by finding inspiration from fictional characters — both human and non-human. A lot of times, they are created to express the things that we want to but are too afraid to for whatever reasons.
I encourage you to keep on doing this.
Don't worry about feeling pressured to share any of your own work.
