Wrote this for a friend. I didn't share it with them yet because I'm nervous at how it sounds. Feedback appreciated.


I love you in light and in darkness
In heavy wind and rain
On days when the sun is so bright
And on days you can't see the stars at night

I love you even when i dont have words
I may not know what to say
But know my arms are wide open
I want to be here for you in any way

I love you when you're holding tight
to your end of our thread
And at times when you just CAN'T, anymore
You find yourself stuck in bed

With pillows pushing against your ears
Blankets over your head
When you've shut yourself in
To keep the haaken-kraks howls out

When you're walking in the purple garden
Feeling like yourself again
Free,
Your spirit rejoices
Relearning to fly; relearning the beauty
You have the answers within
Even if you're not there, yet
I am not going anywhere

Whatever the situation may be
You'll always be my hybrid
For you, I will do
The care bear stare
And celebrate every unbirthday moment

I will not be too far behind you
Nor speed too far ahead
