row your boat -

Row row row your boat
Moving quickly as can be
The howls and growls
bring you back down
So try to swallow your screams

As soon as I started to read the first line, it was instinct to read the rest to the tune of row row row your boat! I love it
“You are braver than you believe,
stronger than you seem,
and smarter than you think.”

It sounds perfect when you read it to that tune. I love the creativity here! Hope you are okay.
If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts
Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first

I also read it in the tune! I like this spin.
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive

One thing I love seeing in poetry or stories is someone taking something familiar and "safe", such as a nursery rhyme or fairytale, and twisting it into something darker or giving it an entirely different meaning. Which is to say, of course, that I really enjoyed this.

I really enjoyed this. At the beginning I smiled as it reminded me of the nursery rhyme. Reading the rest of the lines, it is powerful and beautiful.
