too cold to cry
When your eyes see and your ears hear
faster than your brain comprehends When you're overwhelmed with hurt and your energy has been drained Cross fingers the heat will start Pull in knees to chest Hug a stuffed animal cat Try waiting around. The salt in tears, Chips away at icicles De-frost, thaw Harsh winter nights Waiting around, for the sun to shine through When alleyway roads darken A drop of sun, goes a long way Death consumes the air There's a life out there Waiting for tears, but It's too soon to open up Too soon to cry Slush icy tears, Mud puddles melted mush Shoveled, no digging involved shoved over to the side heaps over the years Waiting around, a sanctuary to just be Loose, warm, protection from harm Safe for tears to run free So far, youre so far from making this reality* Too messy, too dense Too much of an expense, to cry Hard rocky hail Pelt at red cheeks like a snowball fight Waiting around To warm up, well up As liquid inside your eyes Slowly slip and slide A single streak That's the most you can get, the rest is frozen solid* Still waiting around... Too painful to bear Too much to make sense of* Not warm enough for liquid tears You try,* but it's Too cold to cry |
Re: too cold to cry
This is really cool yet emotional, too. I like the mention of defrosting during the winter nights, and how a little bit of sun can go a long way. I can relate to that.
