Eurydice
Someone I know was about to publish hoz third poetry book but then it all got lost :( I hate when that happens. Technology could suck so much sometimes. In June my tablet got damaged as I kicked it during an anxiety attack not knowing it was on my bed and it bumped into a sharp edge. So in light of that, I wrote a poem. Mostly with him in mind. Also because if he had to be a Greek mythology character, he'd totally be Orpheus. XD
When Hades granted permission To retrieve Eurydice, he warned Do not look back. But Orpheus turned, still, to see if she was alright As she faded out of sight He had the itch he couldn't reach The itch I cannot reach, The loss of a poem, But the loss of a series? That's my Eurydice Fading away I just want to hold her, again Compile a book to keep her together I can look back, without her disappearing I attack the air But I could not grasp The essence Slipping through My fingertips Like a sieve with sand There's nothing I could do To reach the burning itch |

Re: Eurydice
I love the Greek theme, I've always loved mythology. The extended metaphor of the itch is really effective, thanks for sharing!

Re: Eurydice
I really enjoyed this. I took a class on Greek Mythology and we read a story about Eurydice.

Re: Eurydice
Having lost the first ever full-length story I ever wrote through a technological accident, I definitely feel that pain. :nosweat: I really like the mythological side to this, and the way you use it to express thoughts and feelings about a real-life event. Thanks for sharing!
