doll making show and tell time

Confession: I'm 22 years old and I'm still "into" dolls. :?
Confession: when I'm depressed and feeling alone, I spend hours making dolls
Made this from scratch!

Materials: wire, fabric from a red sock, denim fabric from an old dress, yarn, embroidery thread, old stuffing from an old pillow, old sheer panty hose
Also:scissors, sewing needle, modge podge (for pasting)
I did not plan it out and now comes the difficult part with making eyes and mouth. Probably going to paint it on.

I have to admit that I have a slight irrational fear of dolls, but this one's actually really cute. :hehe:

I don't think there's anything childish about making dolls. Heck I'd still play with them if I had someone to play with lol. I've thought about making dollhouses. I really like the doll you made and it makes me kind of want to learn!

Thank you! I am glad I didn't creep you. And I've always wanted to make a dollhouse too D:

Also I made the eyes/mouth. Hope it isn't creepy still

P.s. I used sharpies because I was too scared to mess up with paint.

I don't think it looks creepy at all! It looks awesome. The face adds even more personality in addition with the clothes and such. I think the doll is beautiful. I like how the hat is kind of pointed. You also did excellent with cutting the fabrics and putting them on!

Have you ever tried sewing facial features? I imagine it probably depends on the size of the doll in regards to what's realistic for the face, but perhaps if it would be cool to practice sewing them with just thread or even using buttons for eyes. You could possibly try out embroidery, too. :)

I have to admit, I love dolls too. I'm kind of obsessed with American Girl Dolls (and similar brands in that size range) even though I don't own any. I wish I could splurge in that area. I'm just weird in the fact that I only like to pose them or arrange outfits. I don't have the imagination anymore to actually act out something. :p

Still not creepy, definitely only cute. :p The weird thing is that as a kid I always loved dollhouses, but I don't think I ever really put any dolls in them. I was more likely to turn them into insect hospitals. :hehe:
