Summer
 

A child wanders stick in hand,
Smiling wandering past the lake,
Not a care in the world,
Inquistive.
Thats summer
A girl sits on the bench watching,
Smiling at his innocence,
Lost and alone,
Depressed.
Thats summer.
The birds chirp and chatter,
The child smiles,
Stick in hand,
Running through the grass,
Happy.
Thats summer.
Blade in her hand,
Thoughts in the lake,
Alone.
That's summer.

I like the imagery here and how it creates tension, how you present summer as fun but also has a dark side.
