Soo, this friend posts poems often and last night it was about a garden that was once peaceful but has been disrupted and the flowers had hardened and such. I didn't ask if I can quote him so I wont post the original but this was my response poem as like a spontaneous bounce off thing :P
Purple trees once full of life,
Now shriveled skeleton left to die
Winter takes over, hunger strikes
Hold your breath to hear how silence bites
Slide inside your cave
huddle and cuddle and hibernate
But fear not, for we all need rest
Nurture these flowers, and yourself
When the time is right, when the season calls
Blossoms and blooms will seize your heart
Despair may come but don't let it set
Come springtime, your eyes will not regret
I posted this and he told me that he had a line about winter that he erased so it was quite freaky that I sensed his underlying thought process without him saying :P
That's kind of awesome that he had erased a line about winter and then you put one! I also really like how you described everything, so beautifully!
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
This is pretty and uplifting. I think it's fun to write poems in response to other people's work.
If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first
