A relatively new poem titled "Him". I hope you like it
There was a boy
I fell for
like no other.
He opened up
my soul, even when
I told him not to bother.
He strode into
the cave I call
my very being.
Lighting up
the darkest parts
I had been fleeing.
He saw my demons
lurking past,
but they did not attack.
So he kept on going,
through the damp and cold
until he reached the back.
Turning around,
he saw me there
with tear-stained cheeks.
He caught me
in his arms, and told me
it is okay to weep.
Between the sobs,
he saw my scars
occupying wrists and eyes.
He whispered,
never again,
would I be left to my mind's lies.
