Give me a chance
To prove what I can do.
Give me a chance
Even though I'm new.
Give me a chance
To speak my mind
Give me a chance.
Don't leave me behind.
Give me a chance
To make a change.
Give me a chance,
Don't call me deranged.
Give me a change.
I really need one.
Give me a chance
To show you I'm fun.
Give me a chance
Before you refuse.
Give me a chance
Before you assume.
Give me a change
Mr. so and so.
I know I am young
But I have room to grow.
You just don't give me a chance
You push me away
And let all your favorites
End up seizing the day.
But if you let me show you
How good I can be
You'll be surprised
Really, trust me.
You have to realize
There are more then just them.
So give others a chance,
Please, let them win.
I'm tired of being ignored
Left out, beaten.
It's a dog eat dog world
And I guess I'll be eaten.
But this is my life right now,
So here's to 2 and half more years
Of being given boos and crap roles
While they get the leads and cheers.
I thought it'd be fun
But boy was I wrong
Two more years of this
And then I'll be done.
I'll prove you wrong
And I'll make it, I swear.
And you'll wish that you gave me a chance
While I was there.

This poem is about a teacher of mine. He plays favorites. He is biased towards seniors. He favors about four juniors and one sophomore too. I am not the one sophomore he favors. Because he plays favorites he gives them all the lead roles, makes them win every competition, etc. I get pushed away and left in the dust. I can act. I know I can. But he won't give me a change to show him I can. I think he doesn't like me. I don't see why he doesn't. I never did anything to him.
I thought joining this class would be fun, but it's not. I love love love acting though, so I'm staying. I'm not quitting something I love because of a crap teacher. I just have to deal with him for about 2 and a half more years. I just wish he would give me a change to show what I have. He probably isn't even going to cast me in the next show. I can see it coming. Maybe he just doesn't like sophomores. But when your casting a show or judging a contest, I say talent before seniority.
