Just want to say hello to you guys again
So... hello!
I haven't been on this site in years but let me tell you, it's been wild to revisit and see so many familiar names! I was very active circa 2016-2018. Part of me feared this forum would be dead and quiet, but it makes me so happy to see that it is still thriving and well. I just want to say that the people on this site have helped me through some of the hardest parts of my teenage years. I am extremely grateful for the compassion I was shown here, even though I said some things that I would now consider blatantly hateful and obnoxious. I wasn't a great person, teenage me. But all we can do with regret is change ourselves for the better. Life is good, not always fantastic, but it's livable. I have people, pets, and hobbies that make it so worthwhile. It's been several months since I last had any suicidal thoughts, I am nearly five years clean from self-harm, and I can honestly say that I have accepted and moved on from the trauma I endured as a teenager. There really is a light at the end of the tunnel, you just need to keep moving forward. With that, I hope everyone is doing well. I wish the best to all of you, whether I knew you or not. Please take care and maybe I will see you around! |

Thank you for your post Jess! I'm so glad you are in a more comfortable place in your life now, and hopeful words like yours make my day. You are welcome back any time so please feel free to stick around if you like! Otherwise I hope more good things come your way in the future anyway. :D

Hey Jess, I remember you! It's so great that you decided to pop in and especially so with wonderful words of encouragement. I hope to see you around, feel free to pop into the Discord chat sometimes just to say hi and catch up. :)

I remember you from years past! It is always so wonderful to see people return and share a bit about how well they are doing, especially when the site was instrumental in helping make some of it happen. I am glad you are in such a wonderful place in life right now and hope it continues.

It's lovely to read your update, Jess (I remember you!).
It's good to know that the TeenHelp community has helped you through the difficult times in your life. I think we all say and do things we regret as a teenager, but also, that's how we come to find ourselves and what really matters once we have been and gone through that. It's also good to hear that life is better for you and that you have mostly recovered from the trauma. You are proof that, as you say, there really is light at the end of the tunnel!
